Lessons have been assigned to them based on their diagnostic test results both in Math and Reading. Within each lesson are brain break games. The district is pushing a goal of 45 minutes per week on Online Lessons in ELA and 45 minutes per week in Math to close the gaps found in the diagnostic. Math and ELA are providing some of that time during the week, but not all.
WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: TinkerCAD, an easy-to-use 3D CAD design tool !
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Gives the user the ability to take something that's 3D and represent it in 2D. It is essential to all industries that use 3D modeling like architects, engineers and game designers!
HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: You will complete starter lessons on TinkerCAD and soon answer questions based on what you completed!

Click +NEW...3D Design
Name it...
On the top left corner, click the name to change it to COIN

Change your Snap Grid to 0.25 mm
Next...
Bring a Cylinder on to the workplane
Change the diameter (click the bottom right white handle) to 45 mm
Next...
Raise the Cylinder 9 mm above the workplane (click and pull up the black cone...enter 9 in the bottom box)
Next...
Make the cylinder a HOLE
Another cylinder...
Bring another Cylinder on to the workplane
Change the diameter (click the bottom right white handle) to 50 mm
Another cylinder...
Change the height (click the top white handle) to 10 mm
Align the cylinders...
Draw an imaginary box around BOTH cylinders
Click the alignment tool on the top right corner
Click the dot on the bottom center and the left center to align!
Group...
Draw an imaginary box around BOTH cylinders
Group them!
TIP! Change the color of the coin now to ANY color except Orange or Black!
CUSTOMIZE!
Pick ANY shape (EXCEPT A STAR!) or letter or number and put it on the workplane
TIP: Look through all of the shapes and pull down menus...be creative!
Make the object no wider than 40mm and no longer than 40 mm
Make the object 10 mm in height (Not up off the workplane!)...use the Top white handle...enter 10!
DO NOT PUT IT ONTOP OF THE COIN YET!
ALIGN TO THE CENTER OF COIN! (if needed)
Move your object to the center of the coin and ALIGN
Draw an imaginary box around BOTH cylinders
Click the alignment tool on the top right corner
Check to see which dots make it align!
NOTE: you might need to just eye it!
FINAL!
Change the COIN to ANY color other than ORANGE or BLACK (NOT ORANGE or BLACK!)
Change the object ANY color (Not the same as the coin!)
GROUP both
Select Multicolor! (This will show it as 2 colors!)
BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD...
The coin MUST be TWO colors (NOT ORANGE or BLACK!)
There must be an object on the coin (letter, number etc...NOT A STAR!)
ALSO FILE MUST BE NAMED Coin!
WAIT!
Add your name to the workplane!
Click on the TEXT tool on the right and drag over onto the workplane
Press the HOME (house) VIEW BUTTON to set the workplane so your teacher can see the entire workplane!
YOUR NAME MUST BE ON THE WORKPLANE TO GET CREDIT!!!
ONCE THE LESSON IS COMPLETED!
Click the HOME BUTTON to view your entire workplane
Click SEND TO (on the TOP RIGHT!)

Click the DOWNLOAD BUTTON!
This will download your Workplane file (it will be named dimensions.png) and all created upon it to your DOWNLOADS folder!
Go to our Classroom in TEAMS
Select Assignments
Select
TinkerCAD: Coin from Scratch!
Note: you will be attaching 1 file!
Scroll down to MY WORK
Click +ATTACH
Click UPLOAD FROM THIS DEVICE
Select DOWNLOADS (on the left)
Find the downloaded file and select it (it should be called Coin.png)
Click OPEN
Wait for file to upload
File will show up below under My Work
CLICK TURN IN!
NOTE: There MUST be a file (download of project) attached to get credit. Simply clicking TURN IN will not do!!!
Make sure you COMPLETE the LESSON and attach file to assignment TEAMS to get CREDIT!
