WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: Teamwork!
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Teamwork promotes an atmosphere that fosters friendship and loyalty! Collaborative problem solving leads to better outcomes as it offers differing perspectives and feedback. Working in a team encourages personal growth, increases job satisfaction, and reduces stress.
HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: Students will work as a TEAM to problem solve and show a collaborative outcome!
The class will be divided up in to TEAMS of 4 to solve a problem!
IMAGE OF PENCIL LAYOUT WILL NOT BE DISPLAYED ONLINE (sorry!)
Students come together to discuss:
Move two pencils to come up with the largest number possible!
Team members must work cooperatively to:
Decide which 2 pencils are moved
Choose a "Leader" to move the pencil
Decide if this is their final answer
ONCE A PENCIL IS MOVED YOU CANNOT MOVE IT BACK...
THINK ABOUT THE SOLUTION BEFORE MAKING A MOVE!!!!
Competition!!
Students are problem solvers and we are going to start by asking you to solve a problem by working in a team. Does it sound easy?
You cannot touch the pencils until you are sure which ones you would like to move.
ONCE A PENCIL IS MOVED YOU CANNOT MOVE IT BACK...
THINK ABOUT THE SOLUTION BEFORE MAKING A MOVE!!!!
The Goal!!
Come up with the LARGEST number possible
BUT ONLY 2 (TWO) PENCILS CAN BE MOVED!
Next week the winner will be announced!
